SACRED BUDDHAPISAK CEREMONY
Supreme Patriach of Thailand bestows Buddha Relics
On 18 July 2004 at 16.09 hours Phra Khru Phisanbunniwit , Mr. Pakorn Buranapakorn (MP Chiang Mai), Senator for Lampang Province, and 9 Senior government officials requested for an audience with HH Supreme Patriach of Thailand Somdet Phra Nana Sangwara at Wat Bowon Niwet with the purpose of asking for His Holiness to bestow 3 Buddha Relics to be placed inside the Crown Top Knot of the Buddha Sihing Jade Image. The Supreme Patriache gave us his blessings together with a golden tray with pedestral for making a pilgrimage to the Buddha Sihing Jade Image on his behalf. Phra Khru Phisannbunniwit made a sacred invitation for the Buddha Relics to travel with the Abbot to Chiang Mai city via Thai International Airlines and arriving at Chiang Mai airport at 20.09 hours.
The Mayor of Chiang Mai city, Mr. Boonlert Buranupakorn, in white official dress was waiting at Chiang Mai airport to receive the Buddha Relics, together with 24 other government officials. At Wat Ou Sai Kham, there were many Bhikkhus and laity waiting for the arrival of the Buddha Relics. On arrival at Wat Ou Sai Kham, the laity gently scattering rice and flowers to receive the Buddha Relics. |

Nine Senior Bhikkhus recited sacred Buddhist Chants and the Buddha Relics was gently placed in a tall red wooden Pavilion that was in the center of the Vihara Hall - for all laity to pay homage and respect for 7 days.
